Although we rely on our mothers to give birth to maintain and grow our population, there is still no standardized postpartum care or childbirth recovery program for them. This gap is currently met by independent businesses and cultural practices, such as Zuo Yue Zi, the Chinese postpartum confinement practice rooted in traditional Chinese medicine.
“Every year, at least 40 million women are likely to experience along-term health problem caused by childbirth, according to a December 2023 maternal health series published … in The Lancet Global Health.” World Health Organization News, December 7, 2003
In this workshop, you will learn:
- What is Zuo Yue Zi and how traditional Chinese medicine is tied into this Chinese cultural practice
- Explore the global confinement and postnatal retreat industry
- Why it’s important to bridge this cultural practice with modern postpartum care
You will also learn how to create a childbirth recovery and postpartum wellness program based on Zuo Yue Zi and TCM that aligns with your patients’ and clients’ modern lives.
