What is a live webinar?

A live webinar is a seminar that is streamed online and that you can watch on your computer or mobile device or tablet. Depending on the webinar, you may also be able to interact with the speaker and other attendees by asking questions or entering them into the chat.

What is a webinar course?

A webinar course is a series of webinars. You will receive a reminder email before each webinar.

What is a recorded webinar (distance education)?

Recorded webinars are recordings of previous live webinars. When you purchase a recorded webinar, in addition to access to the seminar, you will also receive the handouts from that webinar.

How long do I have access to my webinars/recordings?

For most webinars, you can access the recordings of your webinars for one year after either the purchase date or the date of the live webinar (please see the webinar description for more details).

How do I take part in my live webinar or course?

Live Webinar: You will receive two reminder emails with a zoom link and all instructions in advance of each webinar. You can watch the live webinar either in the Zoom application or directly on our learning platform by clicking on Watch Webinar in the Participant Area (does not work with Safari or Internet Explorer - see "Technical" below).

Recorded Webinars: You can watch the webinar recording directly on our learning platform by clicking on Watch/Join Webinar in the Participant Area (Live Webinars do not work on the platform with Safari or Internet Explorer - see "Technical" below).

Course materials will be made available to you in the Participant Area prior to the webinar. You will also have access to the recording, which is usually available a few days after the webinar.

How can I access my recorded webinars?

With recorded webinars, you can get started right away. In the Participant Area, simply click on Watch Webinar. You can watch it as many times as you like.
You will also find the course materials in the Area. Please also have them ready for the webinar in case you would like to refer to them or make notes on them.

How do I receive my certificate?

During the live webinar, the system logs if you have attended the entire webinar. If this is the case, you will only need to answer a simple question in the quiz area to receive the course certificate by e-mail.

In the case of the recorded webinar, you will find the link to the final exam in the Participant Area. Once you have successfully completed the exam (60% of the questions answered correctly), you will automatically receive the course certificate via email. If you failed it the first time or were interrupted in the middle of the test: Don't worry. You can start the exam several times if something didn't work.

If you live in the US, you will also need to fill out a worksheet to receive your certificate.

How do I get my login?

Please go to the Registration page https://www.lian-institute.ch/register and enter your personal information. After you sumbit our information, you will recieve an Email confirmation with your login details. If you don’t see the Email in your inbox, please check your Spam folder.

How do I get my password?

If you can’t remember or find your password, please go to the login page https://www.lian-institute.ch/passlost and click on Forgot Password. You will then receive an Email with a new password. If you don’t see the Email in your inbox, please check your Spam folder.

How do I change my password?

To change your password, first login and then click on My Account in the menu at the top of this website and then choose Change Password.

I didn’t receive my login details or registration confirmation Email

Please check you Spam folder. If you still can’t find it, please contact customer service by sending an email to info@lian-institute.ch.

Technical

Do I need to install any software to watch live webinars or recordings?

To watch the live webinars in Zoom, you will need the Zoom application installed. Please do this well before the webinar to avoid technincal problems. We also recommend having the latest version installed to ensure compatbility.

No extra software, including Zoom, is needed to watch recorded webinars on our platform.

I can’t find or access the course handouts or documents

Please make sure that you have the correct webinar selected in the dropdown menu on the right of the screen in the Participant Area. If you still can’t access them, please contact customer service by sending an email to info@lian.institute.ch.

What happens if I purchase a live webinar and can’t watch it live?

You will autmotically have access to the recorded webinar which you can watch any time up to one year after the date of the live webinar.

What do I need to pay attention to with live webinars?

Before the Webinar:

  • Please download the course handouts (presentation) in advance and have them ready for the webinar. They will be available in the Participant Area on our learning platform at lian-institute.ch before the webinar. Here you will also find instructions on how to use the Zoom webinar application.
  • ZOOM does not fully support the Safari and Internet Explorer browsers. If you are viewing the webinar on our learning platform at lian-institute.ch, please use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge as your web browser. Please have one of these (and NOT Safari or Internet Explorer) installed prior to the webinar if you don’t have one already.

Starting the webinar:

  • To join the webinar, simply click on the Zoom link to watch the webinar in the Zoom application - please make sure that you have the application installed ahead of time. You can also watch it on our learning platform at lian-institute.ch. Click on Participant Area, and select the appropriate webinar from the drop-down menu and then click on Watch Webinar.
  • Test your connection ahead of time. We suggest that you connect 15 minutes before the webinar starts to make sure that your connection and audio work.
  • To avoid background noise during the webinar please remain muted. If you need to unmute yourself to ask a question (before the webinar, or with permission, please press the space bar on your computer to temporarily unmute yourself).

During the webinar:

  • Pease use your real name (first and last) in Zoom so we know who you are.
  • Use the chat function to ask questions, the speakers and the host will answer as many questions as they can during the webinar. Please send all questions in chat to “Everyone” and not privately to the Host – that way the co-hosts and speakers can also help answer questions.

After the webinar:

  • You will receive instructions on how to receive your course certificate during the webinar or by email.
  • The recording will usually be available within a few days in the Participant Area on our platform.
