Course Description

In this course, Dr. Yifan Yang will discuss the TCM treatment of the following Lung diseases:

Asthma and COPD

 (70% herb, 30% acupuncture, diet, breath exercise )

Asthma and COPD are either from allergy or from recurrent inflammation of the bronchi  are characteristics of acute attacks and chronic breathlessness. Due to too little oxygen in the body, patients feel tired and weak and have low vitality. When the body resistance is low and with aging, patients’ conditions become worse and worse, and are difficult to be controlled by regular western medicine.

In the webinar, Dr. Yang will briefly review asthma and COPD in both western medicine and TCM. After that she will discuss the internal and eternal factors as well as triggers of the acute attack of breathless and in chronic stage of asthma and COPD. She will make syndrome differentiation and explain the treatment plan. After that she will introduce the treatment possibilities, including acupuncture, Chinese herbs, diet and breath exercise. At last, she will address the proper treatment at the proper time for efficiency and safety especially in the stage of acute attack. She will emphasize the important points the cautions and the additional value of TCM treatment for effectiveness and safety in treatment.



Hay fever, acute and chronic upper respiratory infection
(80% herb, 20% acupuncture)
Hay fever happens mainly in the Spring, and antihistamines do not control all symptoms. Upper respiratory infections can happen all year round, but they are more often seen in the winter and early spring. In this webinar, Dr. Yang will discuss the understanding of the diseases in TCM, make syndrome differentiation, and introduce the treatment with Chinese herbs and acupuncture.

Prevention of the common cold, influenza (50% herb, 50% acupressure, diet, breath exercise)

In this session, Dr. Yang will discuss the special role of the Lung in the common cold and influenza.
She‘ll give advice and tips using acupressure, self-massage, Chinese herbal home remedies and dietary cautions to strengthen and spread the Lung-Qi so to prevent from colds and influenza.

Dr. Yifan Yang

Yifan Yang studied Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Beijing from 1977 to 1982. She then worked as a doctor and TCM teacher and received a Master's degree in Chinese Herbal Medicine. She has been practicing and teaching in Holland since 1990.

She is also the author of the following books: "The Aftercare of COVID-19 Infection: Herbs Acupuncture Nutrition Massage Exercise" (2021), "Chinese Herbal Medicine - Comparisons and Characteristics" (2002/2010), "Chinese Herbal Formulas - Treatment Principles and Composition Strategies" (2010) and co-author of "The Treatment of Pain with Chinese Herbs and Acupuncture" (2002).

In 2013, Yifan received the highest Chinese award for clinical TCM, equivalent to the title of senior specialist and professor of TCM.
