Gynecology and Infertility in Chinese and Western Medicine
Lesson 01: Basic Theory and Core Strategies
This course is based on the book “Female Infertility and Reproductive Gynaecology”. The book authors Celine Leonard and Michael Häberle, supported by Esther Denz, will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the female cycle, infertility and assisted reproductive medicine from the perspective of Chinese and Western medicine. In particular, treatment with Chinese herbal medicine will be taught in detail.
In the first lesson, you will get an overview of the reproductive process from the perspective of TCM and Western medicine. You will learn about the importance of the kidneys, the four phases of the female cycle based on basal body temperature (BBT), and common underlying infertility patterns. This is followed by an introduction to the biomedical tests that should be performed.
