The 18-Movement Qi Gong Form (Taiji Qigong Shibashi)

Discover the ancient art of Qigong, a practice that harmonizes body, mind and soul through gentle movement, breathing and awareness.

Taiji Qigong Shibashi 太極氣功十八式 is an easy-to-learn, gentle and effective form of Qigong and suitable for all ages. It is one of the most popular and most widely-practiced forms of Qigong in the world. The wave-like, fluid movements stimulate the flow of Qi and blood throughout the entire body. Shibashi’s gentle movements may be practiced by anyone regardless of age to increase vitality and rejuvenate the body and mind. It is also a great way to reduce stress.

For TCM practitioners, Qigong is a great way of not only improving your health, but also preventing burnout and improving your Qi sensitivity.

The word Qigong is composed of the Chinese words Qi, which refers to the energy in all things (a universal life force), and Gong, which means skillful cultivation. Qigong thus means “energy work” or “skillful cultivation of energy”. Qigong practice utilizes and improves the flow of this energy to optimize our health and wellbeing.

This course will focus on learning the 18 movements of this form along with some supplementary Qigong exercises to help improve your Qigong practice and strengthen your Qi.

The course consists of 10 live one hours lessons which will be recorded. You will have access to the recorded lessons for one year after the date of the course. The movements will be demonstrated in detail and feedback will be given during class to those who want it.
